Freelance Social Video Producer and Editor
Location: West Orange, NJ
We are looking for a freelance social video producer and editor to create 2 Instagram Reels for an independent school in Essex County. The first is a fast, upbeat staff video built around short department and grade-level scenes. The second captures the first day of school and combines your footage with additional clips from the school's marketing team.
On-site shoots on August 25 and September 1, 2026, with edits due August 28 and September 3. A one-hour pickup window may be needed on August 27.
What you'll do
- Shoot vertical video on Tuesday, August 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Hold Thursday, August 27, from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. as a possible pickup window.
- Edit the first Reel with quick cuts, music, and a polished social format for delivery by Friday, August 28.
- Film teachers and students on Tuesday, September 1, starting at 8:00 a.m. for a few hours.
- Build the second Reel from your footage and clips supplied by the marketing team for delivery by Thursday, September 3.
What I'm looking for
- A portfolio with short-form social video, Reels, TikTok, Shorts, or comparable work
- Strong editing instincts and proof that you can work on a 48-hour deadline
- Confidence directing groups during tight shooting windows
- Comfort filming in a school while following staff direction and student consent rules
- Reliable availability for the dates above
